Aluminium Bifold Doors and Commercial Glazing Supplied to Greater Manchester

Made-to-measure aluminium glazing for Greater Manchester

BDF Architectural supplies aluminium bifold doors, sliding doors, windows and roof lanterns to homeowners, builders and fitters across Greater Manchester. Orders are made to measure and usually supplied for your own fitter; installation can be arranged on a project basis, agreed before you order.

Commercial glazing for Manchester

We take on commercial glazing packages across the UK. Outside London and the South East, each package is reviewed on a project basis, so send drawings and the programme for us to look at.

For a Greater Manchester scheme, that review covers whether we fabricate and deliver for the main contractor’s own installers or arrange installation ourselves, and how deliveries are sequenced from West Drayton against the programme.

How a supply-only order works

  1. Send your schedule

Opening sizes or drawings, the door or window system, colour and glazing. A single set or a whole development is priced the same way.

  2. We quote and advise

We price from your schedule and help settle the system, threshold, glazing and finish before anything is ordered.

  3. Your fitter confirms sizes

Whoever will fit the doors measures the finished opening and confirms the sizes in writing, after any structural work is done.

  4. Made to measure

Profiles are CNC machined, fabricated and checked in our West Drayton facility, made to the confirmed sizes only.

  5. Delivery or collection

Orders are delivered to site, at a charge quoted with the order, or collected from West Drayton. Supply-only orders carry a one-year warranty.

Working with your own Greater Manchester installer

Most supply-only customers already have a builder or window fitter. They measure, we manufacture, and they fit. Because the doors are made to measure, the opening has to be finished first: any new steel or lintel in, the floor build-up settled and the finished floor level known, so the threshold sits where it should.

Replacement doors and windows in England are controlled under the Building Regulations. A fitter registered with a competent person scheme such as FENSA or CERTASS can self-certify the work; otherwise it goes through a building control application with your council. Ask your installer which route they use before ordering.

Trade and supply-only ranges: supply-only aluminium bifold doors and supply-only aluminium sliding doors.

Bifold doors for Greater Manchester homes

Greater Manchester is ten boroughs: Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan. Much of its housing is red-brick Victorian and Edwardian terraces and semis, in places such as Didsbury, Chorlton and Levenshulme, alongside inter-war suburbs in Trafford and Stockport. The typical project is a rear or side extension opened up with bifold or sliding doors.

The North West is wetter than the South East, so the door system’s weather rating and a well-detailed threshold matter more than usual. Tell us at enquiry whether you want supply-only or want to discuss installation, and we will price it that way.

Bifold doors and glazing for Manchester: common questions

Do you take on commercial glazing in Manchester?
Yes. We take on commercial glazing packages across the UK. Outside London and the South East, each package is reviewed on a project basis, so send drawings and the programme for us to look at. Systems include curtain walling, rainscreen cladding, fire-rated glazing, brise soleil and commercial doors.

Do you supply aluminium bifold doors to Greater Manchester?
Yes. We supply made-to-measure aluminium bifold doors, sliding doors, windows and roof glazing throughout Greater Manchester, including Manchester City Centre, Salford, Trafford and Stockport, plus 10 more towns across Greater Manchester. Our factory and showroom are in West Drayton, west London, so Greater Manchester is served supply-led rather than from a local base. Most orders are supply-only for your own fitter or builder; where you want us to install, we arrange it on a project basis and agree lead times and access before you order.
How much do bifold doors cost in Manchester?
Our installed prices — £2,400 for a 2-panel set up to £9,600 for a large 7-panel set, including VAT — apply to the areas our own teams cover in London and the South East. Supply-only orders for Greater Manchester are quoted individually on size, door system, glazing and finish.
See the full bifold door cost guide →
Who measures the opening on a Manchester order?
On a supply-only order, whoever will fit the doors measures the opening, and we make to the sizes they confirm in writing. A made-to-measure door has to be right first time, so the finished floor level and any lintel or structural work should be settled before sizes are confirmed.
Can you deliver to Greater Manchester?
Yes. Supply-only orders can be delivered to site anywhere in Greater Manchester, with the delivery charge quoted alongside the order, or collected from our West Drayton factory. Tell us about any access limits, such as a terraced street or a city-centre loading bay, when you order.
What warranty comes with a supply-only order?
Supply-only orders carry a one-year warranty on the products we make. The installation is covered by whoever fits the doors, so ask your installer what guarantee they give on their work.
Does my installer need to be FENSA or CERTASS registered?
Not necessarily, but the work must meet the Building Regulations. A fitter registered with a competent person scheme such as FENSA or CERTASS can self-certify it; otherwise the work needs a building control application with your council. Either way, keep the certificate, because a buyer’s solicitor will ask for it when you sell.
Do you cover Greater Manchester from London?
We supply UK-wide and arrange installation in Greater Manchester on a project basis, so lead times and access are agreed up front rather than assumed. Many Manchester customers take supply-only and use their own fitter; tell us which you prefer and we will price it that way.
