Who we are

What we collect

Information you give us

• Enquiry and quote forms: your name, email address, phone number (optional), the details of your enquiry, the products you are interested in and the page you sent it from.
• Careers form: your name, email address, phone number (optional), area of interest and message, plus any CV you email to us.
• Email and phone: whatever you choose to tell us when you contact us directly, and details we need to survey, supply or install your project.

Information collected automatically

• Hosting: our hosting provider processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
• Analytics, only if you accept: Google Analytics 4 records the pages you view, your device and browser, your approximate location, how you reached the site and three kinds of event — a page view, a successful form submission (recorded as “generate_lead”, with no form contents) and clicks on our phone and email links. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

We do not use your details for marketing unless you have agreed to it, and we do not sell, rent or trade personal data.

Who we share it with

We use the following service providers. They process data on our behalf and only for the purposes described:

• Microsoft Azure (Microsoft Corporation): Hosts this website and the endpoint that receives website forms.
• Resend (Resend, Inc.): Delivers enquiry and application emails to us and the confirmation email to you.
• FormSubmit (formsubmit.co): A backup relay that forwards your enquiry to us by email only if our own endpoint is unavailable.
• Google Apps Script (Google LLC): A backup route that sends your confirmation email only if our own endpoint is unavailable.
• Google Maps (Google LLC): Shows our location on the contact page — only if you click "Show map here".
• Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC): Website usage statistics — only if you accept analytics cookies.

Where it is needed to carry out your project, we may also share your contact and site details with people working on it on our behalf, such as installers. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

International transfers

Some of these providers, including Google, Resend and FormSubmit, may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is made under the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

Cookies and similar technologies

• Your cookie choice: when you click “Accept” or “Reject” on our cookie banner, we store that choice in your browser's local storage (under the name bdfa-analytics-consent) so we don't ask on every page. This is strictly necessary to respect your choice.
• Google Analytics 4 cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID): set only after you click “Accept”. Until then the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all. We use Google Consent Mode v2 with advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation always denied — we do not use advertising or remarketing cookies.
• Google Maps: the map on our contact page loads only if you click “Show map here”. Google may then set its own cookies. You can use the “Open in Google Maps” link instead.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don't go ahead: for as long as we need them to respond and follow up on any quote, then deleted.
• Customer records: for as long as needed to deliver your project and honour any guarantee, and afterwards for as long as the law requires us to keep business, tax and accounting records.
• Job applications: for as long as we are considering you for a role, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
• Google Analytics data: for the data-retention period set in our Google Analytics account, after which Google deletes it.

How we protect it

Website forms are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our own endpoint and delivered to us by email. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse, and our service providers are required to do the same.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data erased;
• restrict how we use your data;
• object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests;
• data portability — receive the data you gave us in a commonly used format, or have it sent to another organisation;
• withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on it (for analytics, use “Change cookie settings” above).

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
